045 Switzerland: The rest

Switzerland: The rest - Chateau de Chillon, Lausanne, Bern, Montreux, Harder Kulm, Interlaken, Schilthorn (Piz-Gloria), Grindelwold

I have to admit that this was so long ago that I've got places mixed up. All I can say is we did visit/stay at all the places above.

Grindelwald was a lovely place and a great location for us to base ourselves to visit other places

We visit Schilthorn - where the George Lazenby Bond movie was filmed. There are three separate gondola legs to get to the top. The guy at the ticket desk spends 5 mins telling us all we can do at the top. It sounds fantastic, even though it is $99 each we say we'll go. He says that we can't as one of the gondolas is stuck. Tells us it has never happened before. Can't we hear the helicopters? Are we completely ignorant? Hmmm, now that was differentiating customer service!

We do a gorge walk. It is 35C so it is lovely to be in the shade

It is world cup fever. Switzerland are still in the cup. This bar offers free beers when Switzerland score, has an Ozzie flag flying and Frank is made to feel welcome.

This is simply an iconic photo for Switzerland

Harder Kulm.  A lady offers to take our photo. Everyone else has been
cuddling. I decide to pretend to push Frank off. People are in hysterics!

Franks went off to get coffee. He came back with a photo. Coffee (instant) was $5.20 for a paper cup.
These prices are Swiss Francs. Add 20% to get Ozzie dollars!

Bern old town, when you found it, was worth the trek.

Montreux.
There had been a concert the night before so the place was a bit of a mess. Here is Freddie - an inspiration for the town

And here is Freddy again

Chateau de Chillon. It was a splendid castle.

This was hilarious. When we went into the cathedral it was raining and there was just the guy on this, with the umbrella, who looked fast asleep. When we came out it had stopped raining and a few people started to join him. It wasn't until the biker got on, very close, that the guy opened his eyes. The biker was oblivions that he had invaded the other guys personal space and was snoozing within seconds. The first guy just kept looking at him in disbelief and then went back to sleep.

So we park our car politely within the space provided. Then the Ferrari guy comes along and parks like a d**khead . What was funnier was two guys who were admiring the Ferrari then admired our Ozzie flag wing mirrors :)
and that was Switzerland. Many great memories that we have very much paid for. We were certainly over budget in this section of our tour.
It is a beautiful, clean country. Geneva apparently has some purse snatching and pick pocket issues but overall you feel safe.
